Christchurch six-piece 1 Drop Nation know what the world needs now, and that’s their feel-good funky tune + video Groove Show.
To visually bring the Groove Show to life, 1 Drop Nation teamed up with award-winning director Isaac Bell and his crew - including actor/dancer Phil Brown, who is seen throughout the video ‘singing’ and dancing in Christchurch’s stunning Isaac Theatre Royal. A seemingly simple concept, this video has been executed brilliantly - with an end that is sure to surprise, delight and encourage repeat viewings.
Lead vocalist Kanei Johnston says filming the video was exciting and that they’re loving the final result. “The energy of the crew was through the roof! Isaac’s vision and Phil’s incredible talent have really brought the sense that anyone can have a Groove Show wherever they feel it.” This is precisely what the band hope people will do as they listen to and watch their fun new track.
Since coming on the scene, 1 Drop Nation have played some epic festivals, completed a national tour, and supported some of Aotearoa’s finest acts. Over the past year, they’ve been working with producer/engineer Dr Lee Prebble to craft some fresh new tracks and prepare to release their debut album - so stay tuned!
