Off the back of the announce of her exciting new project Crash & Collide, Kiwi artist Riiki Reid releases the second track from the 3-track-EP – dance anthem The City.
The single explores the feeling of being out and about in the city with your closest friends, living in the moment and not wanting the night to end. For Riiki it’s a reflection of nights spent at Wellington’s Club 121, where she’s found herself dancing the night away with her nearest and dearest. A former dance teacher and passionate dancer herself, Riiki sees this EP - and specifically The City - as an opportunity to put out music that encourages listeners to get up, move, and enjoy themselves.
“The dance world is something I’ve always been so a part of. I want this EP to showcase that world in every sense and I want it to bring joy” she says. The arrival of The City is timed perfectly with summer being just around the corner. It’s almost the season of sun and celebration, and thanks to Riiki Reid, we’ve got ourselves a brand-new dance anthem to go with it.
