Singer songwriter Julia Dorry is kicking off 2023 with the release of her debut single You Make Me. Dorry opens up about mental health, hope and finding love in this soul hit you’ll have on repeat all summer. Listen now on Spotify, Soundcloud and all other streaming platforms.

You Make Me features warm, powerful vocals combined with honest and uplifting lyrics that listeners can relate to. The song showcases Dorry’s range as a vocalist. Dorry expresses her emotions of feeling lost and lonely in the world to finding the peace she’d been searching for through love. Produced by Jeff Arantes, this pop ballad is set against smooth piano notes, electric guitar and soulful backing vocals.

“Releasing this song means so much to me. I really wanted to release this song as I felt like I was finally ready to share my journey with the world and also for my daughter to listen to it one day and hopefully be proud of what her mama has achieved,” Dorry says.

Born and raised in Berlin, Julia Dorry started her singing journey at a young age. Inspired by soul, gospel and pop music, Dorry took her unique sound on the road nine years ago, travelling the world to perform at live gigs and festivals before settling in Auckland, New Zealand. Experiencing a range of different music cultures has influenced Dorry’s tone and helped her find her true sound.
