Foundations is the second single off Sofia Machray’s forthcoming 6-track EP, Language of Flowers, scheduled for release on July 21st, 2023. Foundations, written by Sofia Machray, co-produced with engineer and bandmate Robbie Pattinson and expertly mixed by James Goldsmith is a song about dreams and desires.

“The song delves into the uncertainty of doubt that arises when we question if our dreams and desires will pass as we envision them. It’s acknowledging that life has an unpredictable nature and that things don't often move in a predictable straight line, but also highlights the potential for growth and discovery when our paths do lead us down unexpected turns.”

In celebration of Machray’s second single release off the record, she’s just announced a 5-date nationwide Language of Flowers release tour, scheduled for August with her 5-piece support band, including members Anna Wild (Jack Panther, ), Alex Hoare (Gallery Orchestra), Robbie Pattinson (Sam Wave) and Alfie Parvin (Sam Wave).

Often described as an “electric master of an indie singer-songwriter gone rouge” Machray, has been quick to become a hot topic in New Zealand’s thriving independent music scene after recently releasing her first single and video off the record Petals in the Rain, to great success with huge support from both international and local media.

“Tension slowly dissipates into a sweet release that washes over us, drenching our ears and our hearts in a stunning, seductive indie rock sound”...With grace, glistening sonics, and an unfiltered honesty that hits hard and leaves an instant, lasting mark…Sofia Machray is without a doubt an artist-to-watch moving forward.” - Atwood Magazine

Now showcasing her second single Foundations with heavenly vocals and alluring guitars this indie dream-pop fantasizer is rapidly solidifying herself as a tactful, femme-led outfit at the forefront of New Zealand’s alternative indie scene.

Foundations is out on June 16th, with Sofia’s dreamy debut record Language Of Flowers out on the 21st of July. Tour tickets available from June 16th at www.peach-promotions.com
