Flaxxies are delighted to announce the release of the first single Snapped Up (By The Boss) from a new body of work on June 23rd.

Written by the band, and then developed and produced by iconic producer Tiki Taane (Salmonella Dub, Six60, Dylan Frost) at Mount Maunganui’s Studio 11B, the song is the 1st from those sessions to be released throughout the year to come – following up on Altitude which has topped student radio charts as well as reaching #4 on the national SRN charts.

Benji Humphries, the lead singer, boasts a charismatic voice that effortlessly harmonises with the bassline and relaxed groove from rhythm guitarist Nick Tait, bassist Chris Manning, and drummer Jayden Welsh.

The addition of Eric Goodger's searing lead guitar and Chris Manning's breezy trumpet melodies result in a unique and refreshing musical composition. This fusion of reggae, classic blues, and dub elements make for a memorable listening experience, and it’s no surprise the band is fast becoming one of Aotearoa’s most in-demand young live acts.

Flaxxies are clearly a band to keep a close eye on, with a lot more to come including a national tour and an EP later this year.
