As the weather turns and sunshine is right around the corner, Summer Thieves’ single Highway arrives, a sun-kissed earworm taken from their new album Cigarettes In Space.
Highway shows the summery-sound that has gained Summer Thieves an ever-growing audience across Australasia. Blissful guitars combining with laid back vocals from frontman Jake Barton, the track is one that instantly gives a feeling of driving down an empty beachfront road with the sun setting, wind blasting in your hair, and Summer Thieves on the stereo.
Set to be the soundtrack to summer, Cigarettes In Space features an eclectic blend of infectious melodies and genre-bending sounds. Summer Thieves have already supported the release with a sold-out show at Wellington’s Meow, followed by a capacity show at Auckland’s iconic Powerstation. The coming months will see them perform a number of headline shows, alongside a number of festival performances across NZ and Australia.
Cigarettes In Space is out now digitally and on limited edition gatefold vinyl, showcasing the brilliant artwork from frequent collaborator Ray Lalatoa.
