Band & Musician News - NZ Punks Six Twos Confront Societal Cracks on New EP 'Facades'

NZ Punks Six Twos Confront Societal Cracks on New EP 'Facades'

24 June 2024 - 0 Comments

Mount Maunganui punks Six Twos are releasing their third EP Facades this Wednesday, a blistering collection that reflects the harsh realities lurking underneath society's thinly veiled veneer.

Blending their trademark punk intensity with new wave melodicism, Facades sees Six Twos taking their sound in a new direction as they confront the cracks rapidly expanding underfoot.

From the punk gaze grooves on focus track Something Good and Control to the more urgent and straight forward Ticks and Down By Law, the four songs on Facades are a hybrid mix of new wave sensibilities and raw Descendants-esque energy.

"We're living in an era where the facade of civility is being stripped away, you can feel the tension mounting, the cracks proliferating all around us".

The four tracks on this EP capture that tension and give a glimpse behind the veil.

Six Twos' Facades EP releases this coming Wednesday 26 June on all streaming Platforms.
