Peyton Morete, a 22 year old wahine Māori singer-songwriter and sound engineer, born and raised in Te Whanganui-a-tara, but now residing in Tāmaki Makaurau, is releasing Seraphina, a brand new single on August 16th.

Releasing Friday 16th August, Seraphina is a smooth, romantic, and a little bit sexy, new waiata from Peyton Morete. Diving into the phrase of ‘I could be a better boyfriend than your boyfriend’, the melody and groove of this song will have you wanting to get up and move to the push and pull of the music. The song was fully written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Peyton Morete and branches into a new fusion of genres compared to what Peyton has already released.

Peyton Morete continues to break boundaries. With a powerful, soulful and sultry vocal range that captivates you instantly, to her writing and new found sound engineering skills, Peyton is one to watch.

As an allrounder in the industry, her sound is constantly evolving and changing within the waiata she is writing and releasing. Peyton doesn’t conform to a single niche and believes in dabbling in all genres, writing what she feels, which tends to fall under experimental/fusion. She doesn’t shy away from creating things that take you by surprise.

Singing from the early ages of 2, writing songs at the age of 9, to now having a Bachelor degree in Commercial Music, Peyton now continues her journey through the sound engineering side of the industry where she hopes to inspire other artists in knowing they can be every role in the industry and do well.

Peyton just completed an internship programme at Crescendo, where she spent 9 weeks learning all things sound engineering and now is releasing her new single, Seraphina, where she put those skills to use, and wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered this track all herself.

Her goal moving forward is to inspire other wāhine and Māori that we all can thrive and succeed in these male dominated spaces and industries and help break the stereotypes society has made.
