The Logically Impossible is the fourth in the 2024 release cycle for We Will Ride Fast, and feels like the most positive of all four.
“I think I have unconsciously been building up to the release of this tune all year deliberately pushing it out to be the last in the 2024 release sequence.
The logically Impossible is a positive affirmation in an impossible and somewhat illogical world. Suggesting that, in spite of the apparent ridiculous nature of human existence, it is important to make the most of being, and just have fun, proclaiming, “if nothing exists then what are we doing? There is no fun but what we make.”"
2024 has been a busy year for the studio of Kyle Sattler, with a solo exhibition at Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's Audio Foundation in April, followed by the release of three consecutive DIY singles.
These consecutive releases have culminated in (at least) 12 weeks on the RadioScope Alt music charts, with indie/dance anthem Surfing The Meme Machine peaking at a wholesome number 2, and Born In The Heart Of The Universe almost magically climbing to the top of the 95bFM top ten maunga. Not bad for an artist lurking in the fringes of the semi-detached world that is Tauranga.
We Will Ride Fast also played Tauranga's legendary Loserpalooza festival in September. Organised by the Tauranga Music Sux collective (founded by Austin Cunningham of the band Threat.Meet.Protocol), Loserpalooza is a music festival now in its seventh year, the proceeds of which go directly to Lifeline Aotearoa.
