Tauranga's Threat.Meet.Protocol. aren't your usual noise-punk trio (if there is such a thing). Abandoning guitars, their setup of drums, keyboards, and bass allows bassist and vocalist Austin Cunningham to deliver driving, Mike Watt-style bass lines, while keyboardist Luke Turner unleashes a barrage of wild synth noises. Drummer Evan Pope completes the lineup, providing intricate beats that keep the energy high without overwhelming the band's sound.

The Cure is
the latest single from Threat.Meet.Protocol's self-titled full-length album, due out in early 2025. Inspired by Ray Bradbury's short story The Fog Horn,
The Cure speaks of eternal loneliness, and the longing to end this hopelessness.
Threat.Meet.Protocol. say, "After the dismal failure of our last single Funeral March we
are not deterred. Our new single The Cure, with a mind bending video from the legendary Videos Mosconi, is out today. It is coincidentally timed to drop a day before our NZ tour with US band Spotlights begins, so we can use their success to amplify our own. This time we are going to really cut through and make the top ten NZ singles charts. I feel it. Do you?"
They raise a good point. On Thursday 21st November Threat.Meet Protocol. head out on a North Island tour with American band Spotlights.
Signed to Mike Patton of Faith No More's record label Ipecac Records, Spotlights are regular touring partners of Deftones, Mr Bungle and the Melvins.
