Over summer, Minuit released a free remix download every Monday to the first 100 people lucky enough to get their hands on the tracks. Now, because their hungry fans say 100 just ain’t enough, they are making all those remixes available digitally as a bundle, aptly titled Dance Music Will Tear Us Apart – Again. The bundle will be available from 27 June via minuit.bandcamp.com.
Following from last year's Dance Music Will Tear Us Apart EP where two Minuit members remixed their own tunes, here a flurry of other well-tipped producers have been allowed into the Minuit archives (The 88, Guards, Guns, Find Me...) to rustle up their own dance floor madness.
Predominantly drawn from New Zealand studios, there are those already topping digital dance charts such as The UpBeats, Aural Trash, Agent Alvin and (Aussie-come-Kiwi rep) Dan Aux; fresh up-and-comers K+Lab, SickCycle, Circuit and Wellington's damsel of dubstep Alexis K; while not forgetting Minuit regular Funk’n’slocuts, minimalist Simon Flower (Poker Flat) and Finland's 501.
And as an extra treat, set your ghetto blaster to funk for the remix of '25 Bucks' by ghetto-squelchman K+Lab – a track not previously released.
Minuit will celebrate the release of Dance Music Will Tear Us Apart - Againwith a party at Sandwiches, Wellington, on Friday 24 June – featuring Minuit, K+Lab, Funknslocuts, Hexadecimal and Dunsta.
Dance Music Will Tear Us Apart – Again is available for purchase from minuit.bandcamp.com from 27 June.
