Clap Clap Riot are set to release their long awaited debut album entitled Counting Spins on June 15 through Clap Clap Records, distributed by Universal Music NZ.
Since their inception in 2008, the Auckland-based four-piece have played the Big Day Out, Splore, Rhythm & Vines (twice), as well as racking up stellar international support slots, and touring in both New Zealand and Australia alongside artists The Naked And Famous, Birds of Tokyo, The Datsuns, The Checks and Cut Off Your Hands.
And, now finally the debut album beckons…
Recorded between Auckland’s York Street Studios and Studio 203 with engineering maestro Andrew Buckton (Crowded House, Supergroove and The D4), Counting Spins features the Silver Scroll nominated single ‘Everyone’s Asleep’, as well as radio favourites ‘Moss Haired Girl’ and ‘So You Say’.
Clocking in at 39 minutes, Counting Spins is an unadulterated balls to the wall, frenzied, rock‘n’roll party right through until the outro of ‘Everywhere I Go’, bringing the listener back into a state of melancholic bliss.
Clap Clap Riot’s Counting Spins is an explosion of honest pop songs from a group of dudes masquerading as a dirty rock band.
