Düsseldorf don Lorenz Rhode collabs with New Zealand rapper Coco Solid on their new track 'Superficial Robots'. Signed to German label Exploited Records, Rhode uses laser drums, 808 snares and Herbie-ish chord riffs while Coco sings a searing tribute to the droids running our world.
Since his first release two years ago, Rhode has been playing and remixing all over Europe, working with Warp artist Jamie Lidell and according to Kitsune strikes gold as a 'Daft generation' producer. Coco has been making music with Parallel Dance Ensemble (Permanent Vacation), Badd Energy (Flying Nun) and attacking her new solo record dropping next year.
Adding to this crazed combo, is Detroit man of the heated moment Jimmy Edgar who remixes 'Superficial Robots' in an electric strip-down.
The video comes via long-time Coco Solid collaborator Lisa Dunn. For 'Superficial Robots' Dunn takes unsuspecting puppets into a psychedelic game of life.
