Hot on the heels of the explosion in Pacific and California-based Reggae music, VP Records (the global Reggae powerhouse), and Dawn Raid / FMG (the leading Pacific Island-based music label), have partnered with multi-platinum selling DJ and on-air personality DJ Sir-vere & The Club Kings to release VP Pacific Reggae Hits, the go-to summer compilation album.
Featuring a collection of the hottest Pacific Reggae tracks released in the last two years - including hits from artists such as J Boog, Swiss, SpawnBreezie, Fiji, Three Houses Down and Brownhill - the new compilation hopes to further expose the groundbreaking Pacific Reggae Movement worldwide.
To help bring this dream to reality, VP Records have included the biggest hits from the Jamaican Dancehall, Soca and Reggae scenes, including Busy Signals ‘Come On Over’, Tarrus Riley ‘SuperMan’, Gyptian ‘Hold You’ and Jamaican songstress Etana’s hit ‘Reggae’.
“I’m looking to create a perfect back drop to an all new Pacific and Jamaican Reggae soundtrack, something you can sing along to in the garage or jam all day at the beach,”says DJ Sir-vere.
“Pacific Reggae has made a huge impact in New Zealand and the Pacific music scene over the last two years, and the Club Kings are honoured to be included in the VP Pacific Family and taking it to the next level,” he says.
A South Pacific DJ pioneer, with over a quarter of a million Major Flavours albums sold in New Zealand and Australia, a number one on the Australian ARIA's compilation charts and multiple industry awards on both sides of the ditch, DJ Sir-Vere's track record speaks volumes.
VP Records was founded in 1979 and is the largest Reggae label in the world, with artists including Sean Paul, Elephant Man, Etana, Gyptian and Busy Signal.
DJ Sir-Vere will be launching the CD live at Raggamuffin Festival on Feb 1st 2013. Following its launch, VPPacific Reggae Hits will be available online and from all good music stores.
