Sony Music is proud to announce that due to overwhelming public demand X FACTOR NEW ZEALAND runner up, Whenua Patuwai will release his debut single Something Special today, available on iTunes now and available as a physical single from Tuesday 30^th July.

The good news doesn’t end there, Whenua will have the opportunity to perform songs from the show along with his new single as he joins fellow X Factor colleague Stan Walker on the road this September as the official support act on Stan’s upcoming World Tour Of New Zealand.

After a hugely successful debut season of X Factor New Zealand, it was a close race to the end for Whenua and fellow finalist and eventual winner, Jackie Thomas.

Hosted by Dominic Bowden, with Melanie Blatt, Daniel Bedingfield, Stan Walker and Ruby Frost as the four-strong judging panel, The X Factor NZ is the first local version of the global television phenomenon format put on the map by music mogul Simon Cowell.
