Chores are back with a new single
Losing
You, showcasing another side to their sound and proving once
again why they’re one of New Zealand’s hottest new dance acts.
Following support slots for Duke
Dumont and The
Chainsmokers, and ahead of a string of dates at some of NZ’s
most popular festivals, the award-winning team (Thom Simmons and Sam Saunders) have
enlisted the vocals of Jess
Pollard, who featured on the first album by Australia’s RÜFÜS.
“We are massive RÜFÜS fans and we asked Tyrone Lyndqvist to sing - he declined multiple, multiple
times. But much to our surprise - and delight - Jess agreed and
Losing You was
born,” says Simmons.
While keeping their signature bright and edgy sound,
Losing You has a
dark and moody vibe that’s brought to life by Pollard’s soulful voice and stays true to
the meaning of the song.
“It’s about desperately clutching onto someone who you believe to be becoming
distant. It also explores how people can get caught up within their own
emotions when they feel they are losing someone, when in reality, it might just
be their own perceptions.”
Catch Chores’
new live show this summer at
Mudtopia in Rotorua on December
2, Rhythm
& Vines in Gisborne on December 31 and Homegrown in
Wellington on April 7.
