Leighton Fairlie’s debut EP Distant drops on the 15th of May 2019 on all digital music retailing platforms.
The 5 track EP finds Leighton mixing a range of electronica, roots, drum and bass and acoustic elements into a truly captivating and unique sound.
The first single Galaxy references tough times in life. Trying to push through negative thoughts to find contentment and has been well received by listeners.
Distant was recorded and mixed by Cy (previous founding member of Knights of the Dub Table/AstroLove) at Cy Productions and was mastered by Chris Chetland at Kog Studios.
The collaboration of Leighton and Cy has worked well and enabled the artist to capture his unique combination of sounds in a powerful way. The theme of the EP itself represents change, evolving relationships and expanding views as expressed in the artwork.
Leighton will follow this release with a headline show in his hometown Mount Maunganui at Totara Street in June where he and a 6 piece band will replicate the sound in a completely live setting.
Leighton Fairlie looks forward to sharing Distant with the world on May 15th across all digital music platforms to round out a fantastic start to the year for the talented individual.
