Auckland singer-songwriter Harry Parsons has today revealed the video for his new single, Scars.
The video has this morning premiered online with Radio New Zealand. Watch the video HERE
Scars is a heartfelt song, which blends thoughtful lyricism with lush melodies. The song is currently getting radio play across networks The Hits and More FM, as well as regional radio across the country.
Parsons says the self-penned song reflects on love through the highs and lows. And the video - directed by Yonoko Li and produced by Jonathan Zsofi - holds up a mirror to the relatable plight of the dysfunctional relationship.
“A young couple meet at a bar and remember their past, the good times and the bad times,” says Parsons.
“Is there a future for them together? It’s all about striving to fix a damaged relationship.”
Parsons recorded Scars at Auckland’s legendary Roundhead Studios, owned and run by Kiwi music royalty Neil Finn, working with the studio’s award-winning in-house engineer Simon Gooding.
Gooding was recognised for his work at the 2018 Vodafone New Zealand Music Artisan Awards winning ‘Best Engineer’ and ‘Best Producer’ alongside Shihad’s Tom Larkin for their combined effort on Alien Weaponry’s album Tu.
Gooding also added his golden touch to the latest Pink single Walk Me Home, which he mixed.
Parsons has been carving out a name for himself in the New Zealand music scene since coming first place in the national finals of the 2013 Smokefree Rockquest. He’s gone on to release a string of winning singles, including Letting Go, which debuted on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK.
He’s also a live force to be reckoned with, playing countless festivals and opening for acts like Tash Sultana and Lime Cordiale.
