It is really a relief to me to see that soem of you question religion.

For me i ten to a agree with the "Fucks you up " philosophy.

I've met several born again christians, one of whom i had to prevent from sticking a scalpel in his eye bescause he took the "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out" quote literally.

All the born agains or christians i've met all converted after over using a variety of substances and mistaking a bad high for having a vision of god.

Me personally, I see religion as incredibly dangerous, especially the more obsessive vaersions.

I grew up a catholic, read the bible etc, even read the satanic bible, which is drivel by the way, and I see the christian bible as a collection of stories/explanations written by people with less scientific knowledge than we have today.
In other words their way of understanding and documenting what was happening back then.

I believe in nothing at all, as in , no life after death, no heaven no hell, no gods, no spirit world, no visits from the dead, no supernatural world or events.

To be honest, I think if people didn't believe in these things, perhaps they may end up thinking twice before killing, stealing, raping or absuing other people.

One thing is true, we may have different backgrounds, cultures, skin tones, but we all bleed, and we live in a world that is hungry for blood.

Any way thats my 2 cents.

i reckon the bible is bullshit, its based on nothing, just people's view on the world at the time, i don't get how people could take it so seriously, i also don't get how they don't believe in evolution and they have the lamest excuses of why natural disasters happen. sorry to any christians i might have offended....

Well to my reckoning ain't yet been any proof to the contrary, so yup, logic dictates that we simply cease to exist.

Like I say, if we all grew up knowing or believing that then perhaps we might just be a little better to eachother. Life ain't a video game, no second chances.

I believe so. I've been thinking about what happens when you die constantly the last 2 weeks.

What else could happen, nothing else is physically possible. Our heart stops pumping when we die, our brains stop working without blood.

Our thoughts are all purely neurological processes, not some divine insight we were given by "God".

If our souls are preserved in some sort of state when we die, then so would the souls of monkeys and other animals, for they share our basic genetic blue prints, just a more primative form.

And then if the souls of animals are preserved, then why not those of insects also, and bacteria, and even still why not trees, as they're living things too.

People like to think there's life after death, it gives them a sense of immortatily, and helps them deny the finality of death, especially if they've lost a loved one.

But I think when you die, for example if you drowned, first you'd lose consciousness, then your system would shut down. Then you're switched off, you're dead, forever.

Gone gone gone and never coming back. Ever.

So I advise you to emerge from ignorance and stop thinking we are such divine creations.

The concept of a human soul living after physical death (and perhaps BEFORE birth) is vastly different from "religion" - which is usually dictated by a set of rules. BIG difference.

Personally, I think there's more to human consciousness that we have discovered so far.

I have found it helpful to seperate in some ways Religion from Spirituality.

That some people choose or believe "Spiritual" but recoil from "Religion".

Which comes to the big question ... What is the meaning of life?
- That's not an easy question to answer for some people.

But here's what the meaning of life is for me:
To experience every situation to the fullest, to treat & relate to people with respect, to live life with respect for myself and not allow people to tread over me or get me down, not to dwell on anger or feelings of hurt (not always easy of course), and generally doing stuff that makes me happy


Maybe your idea of life is to shit on everyone to make yourself feel better - Is it? HUH!?
