Hi everyone,

Took me a while to find this thread but I'm here now.

I've only read the first few posts before putting this reply up so forgive me if I repeat someone else's answer.

G-TARanaki is definitely the place to be in July to be able to see the world's biggest and best gat players in one place.

Joe Satriani, Glenn Hughes, Gilby Clarke, Uli Jon Roth, Alex Skolnick, Vernon Reid and local wonder, Kara Gordon plus more!

There are workshops held through out the week and Uli Jon Roth's Sky Academy will be travelling to school throughout Taranaki taking workshops.

2 massive nights of performances and our own Guitar Hero Champs will cover the Friday and Saturday nights in New Plymouth whereby every single guitarist headliner will perform live.

And I have also had word that we are expecting yet another international name announcement. Will definitely let you know!

The official website for G-TARanaki is:
www.gtaranaki.co.nz

We also have a Bebo Page:
www.bebo.co.nz/g-taranaki

And a MySpace:
www.myspace.com/gtaranaki

Stu Hamm is playing with Satriani's band it has been announced on his official website. If you are a bassist this guy is a god. Stu Hamm and Glen Hughes - bass heaven.

Yeah Guitarstar, it's a bit confusing.

It is full bands playing for the TSB Stadium concerts on the Friday and Saturday, not just guitarists.

Friday is Gilby Clarke is playing as a trio, the Alex Skolnick Trio is (obviously) a trio, Uli Jon Roth is with his full band, which includes singer Mark Boals from Ring of Fire!

Saturday is full bands again - Glenn Hughes playing his solo and Deep Purple tunes with full band including some Kiwi musicians (awesome for them!!), Vernon Reid's band, Joe Satriani's band.
