You're right mrs delonge, but my point was that it would be easier for a NZ band to become recognised in NZ than it would be for an American band to become recognised in America.

And if a band is already recognised and has a good fan base in one country, it will become easier for them to become recognised in another country.

I've got to agree with some of the comments made by The Goat Master on the afore mentioned blogg. However Flying Nun signed the Mint Chicks, they are one of the best bands in NZ at the moment. Maybe in the late 70's early 80's the standard of Flying Nun bands wasn't that great but these days they're signing some cool acts. I guess that's more a case of better bands around at the moment.
