Unbelievable. The whole "Idol" thing is a pernicious, verminous cancer on NZ music. It has about as much to do with New Zealand as Dubya's left nut.

It pissed me off so much last time that I wrote a song about it (so did Chris Knox, funnily enough. Mine's better IMHO). Listen to the song here and tell me what you reckon.

well you all obviously have alot to learn.
The idol thing was never about music. Not the American idols, not the Australian idols, not the NZ idol...

It is more closely related to market research and making the most out of impressionable teenagers and their expendable income...
Kids love music and at a certain age cannot distinguish it from a pre-packaged, pre-marketed, over-hyped product. I'm sure Mr. Lummis was well aware of what he was getting himself into and if he didn't, shame on the producers, not him.

Don't put anything past these fuckers, monsters walk the earth and they have these ($$$$$$) for eyes.
