Emo/Screamo music is really big at the moment and Punk rock is making some sort of effect on the sound waves. old school influences are still around, people are still influenced by them.

Lots of *old* bands are still creating albums, such as Tool, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)

The *latest* music in the Mainstream are things like beyonce and snoop or something. Lots of R&B.
