BAND LOOKING FOR A VOCALIST

A THREE PIECE WELLINGTON-BASED BAND IS LOOKING FOR A VOCALIST. WE ARE A DRUMMER, GUITARIST AND BASS PLAYER WITH An AWESOME PRACTICE SPACE. WE HAVE SEVERAL ORIGINAL TUNES ALREADY WRITTEN AND WE NEED A FRONTMAN SO THAT WE CAN GIG AND…STUFF. WE PLAY MUSIC RANGING FROM FUNKY, jazzy, COSMIC, ECCENTRIC, CIRCUS ROCK TO LOW KEY SUBTLE BEAUTIFUL SONGS TO HEAVY RIFFS AND HARD HITTING GROOVES, WITH A BIT OF GRUNGE AND CALIFORNIA SOUND MIXED IN…BASICALLY ITS WHATEVER WE FEEL LIKE DOING.

INFLUENCES INCLUDE: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, Jaco Pastorius, Early Incubus, Faith No More, Pearl Jam,Ben Harper, Bob Marley, No Doubt, Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Bootsy Collins, Bob Dylan, Primus, Mudvayne (loosely) and Mr Bungle etc, Marz Volta, Bjork, Jeff Buckeley, Radiohead.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A GUY: WHO HAS A UNIQUE AWESOME VOICE: WHO IS CHILLED OUT: WHO IS IN THEIR EARLY 20’S OR YOUNGER: WHO HAS heaps OF ENERGY AND COMMITMENT TO SONG WRITING: WHO CAN actually SING and has understandings of harmony and melody and/ OR is NATURALLY MUSICAL: WHO IS VERSATILE (CAN maybe SCREAM , SING, FUNK RAP, HUM, WHISPER, MAKE NOISES AND WHATEVER): WHO HAS SOMETHING TO SAY: WHO HAS AN INTELLIGENT PERSPECTIVE: LOVES POETRY AND LYRICISM: IS SPECULTACLUS: WHO IS PITCH PERFECT: MEANING IF YOU CAN’T HOLD A TUNE AND IF YOU DON’T HAVE INTONATION SORRY NOT INTERESTED. Hey there Jungle Boy, Firstly I wanna say that I dig your add. It seems like you guys are into your sound in a big way. You've got some very cool influences and sound like you're on the right track. There should be more of it dude! Unfortunately I live in Auckland, but if I didn't I would love to sing for your band. Keep it up mate.

Great post!

I think you guys will find me too old (31) and probably not heavy enough. To be honest most the acts you've listed I've never heard of... But of your list I do like: Pearl Jam,Ben Harper, Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Bjork, Jeff Buckeley, Radiohead. I am a Radiohead fan though I'm not so crazed now as I was when I saw them play songs from Kid A at a gig in 2000.

I'm a late starter but I definately think I'll be in a good band sometime in the near future. It's what I want to do, and I definately have a voice and a lot to sing about. I'd love to sing other band member's songs or co-written songs as well as my own (I definately wouldn't want to exclusively sing my own songs!)

My greatest vocal influences would probably be:

Thom Yorke
Neil Finn
Roger Waters (listened to a lot of floyd as teenager)
John Lennon
