RE: Slipknot/Machine head/ Children of Bodom in NZ Posted: Mon Sep 1, 2008 12:30 am far out you guys are a bunch of haters. suggest writing your own metal that is better/more successful then?? slipknot is fantastic! GREAT stage prescence. it's hyper energetic and ultra violent. subliminal verses was an incredible album full of amazing riffs and they did things not heard in metal before. sure there's choruses but what's wrong with that? it's raw it's real and as corey said at the BDO "music should be from the heart, if it's not, then what's the fuckin point?" |

Quote:sure there's choruses but what's wrong with that? The fruity melodies. I LOVE a good melody, but if I want a melody in metal, it needs to be DARK. Slipknot are about as dark as the telletubbies. And Joey is over-rated and sloppy. This message was edited by K.I.N.G on Mon Sep 1, 2008 10:10 am. |

RE: Slipknot/Machine head/ Children of Bodom in NZ Posted: Mon Sep 1, 2008 12:37 pm i actually loved the subliminal versus, but this new album hasn't expanded or gone forward. yeah they put on a great live show but so do a thousand other bands. i also think that their mask gimic has worn thin. i still love the band and am glad to be goin to their concert but you can't be so blinded by a bands glory that you can't properly critique them. |

RE: Slipknot/Machine head/ Children of Bodom in NZ Posted: Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:26 am well its over now. shite it was a good night, was on the barrier most the night and have the bruses to prove it. got adam duces (machine head bassist) pick and clowns well id like to call it a drum stick but its more like a small batton. as i thought slipknots stage show was much more "wow" than MH but i actually enjoyed MH much more, better musicianship. slipknot are more entertainers than musicians (nothing wrong with that). was surprised that slipknot only played 2 songs off their new album. great night all and all. now i shall wait patiently for the next cool bands heading our way |

RE: Slipknot/Machine head/ Children of Bodom in NZ Posted: Thu Oct 23, 2008 6:53 pm aye was a wicked night, MH's sound to me was crap, couldnt hear the guitars at all. all kick drum and bass. Still was ok. Slipknot had way better sound and were pretty awesome to watch with all the goings on onstage. now i am broke as. |
