Today, Dainty Consolidated Entertainment announced that world heavyweight metal band Judas Priest, will not be playing in New Zealand on 7 September 2008 as originally planned.

The cancellation of the New Zealand date is due to logistic and freight issues and Dainty Consolidated Entertainment and Judas Priest apologise to all the fans who have purchased tickets for any inconvenience caused.

All ticket holders should contact their point of purchase to arrange for a full refund.

Online/Telephone - If you purchased tickets online or via the telephone, the full purchase price of your tickets and any transaction fee will be refunded automatically to the credit card used to make the original purchase. (Please allow seven days for the refund to come through).

Outlet/Agency - If you purchased your tickets at a Ticketmaster agency as a hard ticket purchase, please take your tickets back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

I managed to get mine changed over to the MH gig thru Quantass for $50.00 fee. Its still worth it.

Yeah $50 ain't so bad in the scheme of things. Would still rather see Priest but hey, Machine Head are a favourite of mine too.

cavalera conspiracy has just been booted off the aus tour coz they have been "deemed an 'inappropriate' band"

all of a sudden im not as upset as i was. coz i would be so gutted if that happened while they were still coming here. im still gutted just not as much.

Seriously, that's probably it.

You need heavy bands that match the style and taste of the main act. Something more traditional and palatable.

i doubt that it was the guys from the band that booted them off. i was reading reviews of them opening for priest in europe and apparently CC went off!
maybe they didnt want them upstaging priest lol naa that wouldnt happen

Just thinking about the two big metal cancellations this year.

With PRIEST especially, it hurts EVERY metal gig.

WHY?

Because it knocks our confidence in promotors.

Next time a metal band plays up North, I'm going to be WAAAAAY more apprehensive about purchasing tickets and booking flights, accommodation and time off my day job.

So when a promotor buggers up a gig like this, they're making it worse for other promotors and bands.
