Live Nation and Secret Sounds are thrilled to announce that UK alternative-pop duo Honne will be hitting New Zealand shores in September. They come armed with a new album in what marks their biggest tour down under, and in response to their immediately upgraded and sold-out shows of 2019 in Australia.
Honne’s Andy and James will take on the Powerstation in Auckland on September 29 this year.
Written throughout the course of 2020, Let's Just Say The World Ended A Week From Now, What Would You Do? captures Honne at their peak - as songwriters, producers and collaborators.
A record that toasts the start of a new era of sound from one of the UK’s most inventive and innovative outfits, Honne draw on a diverse cast of guests to provide a potent pop masterpiece.
"In the past, we've limited ourselves", say the duo. "We might get to a section of a song and things are getting really exciting, but we then pull ourselves back and say, 'Can we really do that?'. Now, we've sidestepped the rules and done whatever we wanted to do.”
This sense of freedom permeates the albums tracklist, which is defined by exciting collaborations with the likes of Khalid (Three Strikes), Griff (Back On Top), and 88 Rising's NIKI (Coming Home). A glistening pop feel and intelligent song-writing come to a head with Sam Smith, jazz prodigy Reuben James, MNEK and Arlo Parks also co-writing songs on the album.
Following critically acclaimed LPs, 2016’s Warm on a Cold Night and 2018’s Love Me/Love Me Not, this latest release brings together everything Honne have worked towards so far, while simultaneously pushing their music into broad and exciting new spaces.
They’re gearing up to share their newest sounds with the world, with a tour that spans the US, UK, and Europe, before gracing Australian and New Zealand shores come September.
Presale tickets go on sale 9am local time, Thursday 3 March. With all tickets to their last Australian tour selling out, be prepared to jump on tickets fast and get ready to catch Honne’s effervescent anthems when they hit the stage this year.
