Gig & Concert News - N. T. Honey release new single 'Road Rage'

N. T. Honey release new single 'Road Rage'

27 May 2022 - 0 Comments

N. T. Honey is the musical project of Anya Henis, a musician and songwriter based in Tāmaki Makaurau.

N. T. Honey's noise and jangly guitar brings alive narratives of feminine archetypes, environmental disasters and everyday phenomena. It's a sound that borrows from a range of influences such as Surf, D.I.Y., Garage and Folk music.

Today N. T. Honey releases Road Rage, an ode to the feelings you get when you're stuck in traffic jams, being tailgated or cut off by a passing driver.

Road Rage was recorded by Stefan Neville (Pumice), with help from Henis' band, bassist Ducklingmonster (The Futurians) and drummer Jade Farley (Pumice, The Gladeyes).

Road Rage is reminiscent of N. T. Honey's debut album Accidental Punk. It's indie rock that's full of gusto and wit.

"Auckland is synonymous with traffic and anyone who has been in a car will have experienced road rage" notes Henis. "Turns out sitting in a car is also a great place to listen to music or write a song. I wanted to capture the speed, the slowness, the frustrations. The song sounds like a car crash but I'm hoping people can relate."

N. T. Honey will perform in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) at Space Academy on June 4th. They're joined by Violet French and The Horrible & Avon Dads. Tickets are available through Undertheradar.
