Plane Sailing returns to Auckland’s Victoria Park with Diplo plus a stack of internationals

02 August 2022 - 0 Comments

After a sell-out first year, Electronic Music Festival ‘Plane Sailing’ returns to Auckland’s picturesque Victoria Park on 6th January.

Diplo, SG Lewis and Elderbrook are just some of the big acts on offer this summer at Plane Sailing 2023. Other internationals joining them on the bill include A.M.C ft Phantom, Etherwood, Fred V, 1991, Krafty Kuts, Tori Levett, VOE, and A Little Sound,

“We are rapt to be bringing Plane Sailing back in 2023. This event was the first of its scale to be hosted at Victoria Park, and when combined with a true summer of freedom we think it will be a day-festival to remember,” says Co-founder Chad Hopa

Heading up the day’s entertainment is Diplo, hailed as one of the most dynamic forces in music today. A ten-time Grammy nominated artist, he has just released his solo album self-titled Diplo, which features the global hit Don’t Forget My Love. He is also known as a founding member of Major Lazer, as well as one half of ‘Jack U’ with Skrillex. He has amassed billions of streams and is known as one of the greatest producers and performers of our generation. He has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest artists including Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber and Sia.

“Victoria Park is the heart of the city and Aucklanders get easy access via public transport, or even a short stroll in for many locals. We have a stellar line up of international and local acts – the vibe will be next-level,” says Co-founder Mitch Lowe.

Electronic artist and producer SG Lewis is sure to impress fans. This disco inspired artist has worked with artists such as Dua Lipa and more recently Elton John. He has a lot to shout about since the success of Times, his debut album which features singles with Nile Rogers, Robyn & Channel Tres and Lucky Daye.

Live phenomenon and multi-instrumentalist Elderbrook is always a ‘must-watch’. Grammy-nominated Elderbook has collaborated with Camelphat, Diplo and Rudimental to name a few.

Kiwi’s love to see their favourite local acts on stage over summer and this year leading the charge is talented duo MC Tali & Chiccoreli, who always impress with their live vocals, MC and DJ performance. Local legends Ponz, Repair and Ruebik will also take the stage.

“We loved playing Plane Sailing last year, it was full of positive summery vibes and was so well run. Definitely looking forward to slaying again this year – this time on the mainstage!” says MC Tali.
