Fans of heavy music: Taranaki's Infinity Ritual is heading out on a North Island tour, starting
in Palmerston North this Saturday November 12th.
It's hard to pin down their sound exactly, but the band says they'd describe
it as a groove metal wall of noise, with good doses of rock, doom and stoner rock.
Infinity Ritual released their debut self-titled EP due in July, and – well-deserved, but much to their surprise – it reached No. 17 in the Top
40 Albums Chart and No. 5 in the NZ Albums Chart.
Drummer Mark Thomas told The Taranaki Daily News, “It was quite amazing to see us at number 5 on New Zealand chart, but to be number 17 on the general top 40 was something I
didn't expect.” Here's the full story.
Thomas may also be familiar to music fans via his
passion for collecting records. He currently owns Vinyl Countdown in New Plymouth, and used to own Real Groovy Wellington. He has a long history with record stores; you can find out more here.
