Inspired by the children’s show Go, Diego, Go!, Hey Diego delivers an addictive upbeat pattern of intricate synths and hooky guitars and a punchy chorus. Connor, Jordy, Vinnie and Angus explain: “’Diego’ is the friend that everyone needs, as a reminder that it is okay to be weird, to be different, to do things your own way. Diego is almost mythical in this song, saving us from a boring world with rules and norms and bringing us back to reality where it’s ok to be HUMAN.”
Teenage Dads release ‘Hey Diego’ as a follow-up to the triple j smash single, Teddy, as well as Exit Sign. All three singles will feature on their upcoming 2023 album.
The Melbourne based four-piece spent much of 2022 on the road playing sold out shows to an ever-growing legion of fans. The year started with Connor, Jordy, Vincent, and Angus playing to some of their biggest audiences ever as special guests on good mates, Lime Cordiale’s national Australian tour. Their own Exit Sign tour saw packed rooms across the country as their reputation grew for being one of the most exciting new band’s to see live. Next came an invite to tour with Spacey Jane for multiple shows in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Teenage Dads are excited to return to New Zealand, having supported Lime Cordiale on their shows at The Hunter Lounge, Christchurch Town Hall, and Auckland’s The Powerstation in June 2022. Having received some of the most enthusiastic responses from audiences they have ever played to, adding NZ shows as part of the Midnight Driving tour was a must-do for the Dads.
