Dreams delivers a piecemeal approach to genre, tempos vary from high-energy heartbreak to blissfully melancholic. Drum breaks propel tracks forward alongside sub bass, soft pads and mixture of found and recorded samples. This, of course, is by design as Morgan explains; "I really wanted to explore a range of the electronic genres that I love. I feel that the album has come out as an eclectic mix of these influences that is quite specific to my musical tastes. I went into the making of Dreams determined to achieve a higher production level than my previous releases, it was a huge learning process particularly in terms of production and mixing. I learned a lot about the kinds of sounds I really like to work with, synth lines, keys and textured pads are definitely my favorites."
"I feel like electronic music can allow for a certain level of anonymity, even if people know who you are as a producer. In particular for me the ways in which you can manipulate vocal samples to sound less or more like your own voice, affords me a sense of comfort in creating more emotionally driven tracks. I think this album is probably the most emotive collection of music I've made to date."
"I'm really proud of Dreams," says Morgan while reflecting on its release. "There were a lot of ups and downs through the duration of making the album. It took me some time to really feel as though it was finished and ready to be put out into the world. I can now say with confidence that I'm so happy to be sharing it and feel that it encapsulates so much about me and my influences as a producer."
