Christchurch sad songs quartet Model Home today release Three Squeezes of the Hand, from their forthcoming debut album ...And Nobody Made A Sound.
Three Squeezes of the Hand tells the story of every long distance drive you’ve ever been on: the unique intimacy between the occupants of the car; the cyclical irritation and appreciation; and the constant forward momentum. Rachael (vocals, guitar) delivers a commanding vocal performance and a song you can sink into or yell along to depending on your mood.
Three Squeezes of the Hand and the rest of the album was recorded at New Zealand's premier studio, Roundhead, with Steven Marr. Previous singles have featured on the Student Radio Network chart with their snappy guitar parts and vocal interplay. The band aren't the only ones excited; they have won two indie labels to their cause: Papaiti Records will release the album in Aotearoa, while False Peak Records will do the same in Australia. Pre-orders are available for LPs (on 180 gram orange vinyl!) internationally via Bandcamp, in Australia via the False Peak website and in New Zealand via Flying Out.
Three Squeezes of the Hand is out today 1/9.
...And Nobody Made A Sound will be released 15/9 digitally and on vinyl via Papaiti and False Peak Records.
