Lost Vessels are one of Auckland’s most promising young rock acts, a high-energy 5 piece pop-punk band fronted by singer Eileen Jolly, channelling dynamic, catchy choruses with dual vocalists and a super-tight rhythm section not afraid of a half-time breakdown or two to get heads nodding.
After dozens of electrifying live performances in the last 18 months, the band won the Ding Dong Lounge Bands Competition in November last year, and have subsequently recorded a debut EP with Dave Rhodes (Blindspott, Stylus) at Roundhead Studios. Set to be released today, their brand new 5-track EP Things I Never Said is a mixture of upbeat and catchy party pop-punk (Nostalgia, Sleep) and darker, emotional anthems (F.M.B., I Don’t Owe You).
June the 2nd saw the release of Lost Vessel's debut single, All This Time, a hard-edged and energetic first look at this dynamic and impressive young band. The track is a deeply personal one for co-frontman Cameron Faulkner, written about profound loss and not having enough time with a loved one. The music video, directed by Alex Hargreaves (Alien Weaponry, [Devilskin}) hit screens shortly afterwards, and the second single F.M.B. was released in July, both racking up 10,000+ streams in a matter of days.
Lost Vessels have been making waves on the local circuit and have already built up a solid base, playing with the likes of Skinny Hobos, Coridian, Stray Dogs, Viices, Holloway, The Not Okays, The Boondocks, Channeled, Finger Tight, Living State, Cherry Punch and many more.
“When I saw them in the semi-final I knew they were the band to beat as this is hard melodic punk with influences from the likes of Blink 182, all driven from the back with punchy and powerful drums. They were the youngest band playing at Aux tonight, yet were full of confidence and were wonderfully tight.” Muzic.net.nz
Lost Vessels will be supporting Written By Wolves at The Tuning Fork in Auckland on 9 September, and Bad Jones at Dead Witch in Auckland on 15 September.
