Supermodel, The Earlybirds, Mile High @ Ellen Melville Hall, 28th May - ALL AGES

Vibe Events in association with Mile High present: An all ages show featuring Supermodel, The Earlybirds and Mile High, Friday 28th May at Ellen Melville Hall.

This show is a part of Supermodel's first NZ tour and your last chance to catch Supermodel before they head to the UK to record their debut album with world-class Welsh director Greg Haver (OpShop, Manic Street Preachers). To try and share their live show with everyone possible they've teamed up with Mile High and The Earlybirds to put on an all ages show during the Auckland leg of their national tour. This line-up of up and coming bands do not usually play all ages shows so you don’t want to miss out!

With Supermodel's anthemic new single 'Send Me Dreaming' currently sitting in high-rotation on C4 and Juice TV, Supermodel is the most invigorating new melodic rock act to emerge out of Wellington, New Zealand in recent times. Made up of Mark on lead vocals/guitar, his sister Rose on keyboards, Michael White on bass and Tony Kemp on drums. All lifelong musicians, since inception, Supermodel have opened for the likes of Midnight Youth, Gin Wigmore, The Feelers, Jonny Love, Frankie Stevens and Dane Rumble and have entertained crowds of up to 15,000 at outdoor events such as The Jackson Street Fiesta, The Island Bay Festival and Toast Martinborough.

The Earlybirds were the first band to be signed to EMI Music under the new regime, and are about to take the country by storm. Managed by NZ music industry patron, James Southgate who brought New Zealand The Feelers and Anika Moa, two of New Zealand’s highest selling artists. The Earlybirds are sure to follow suit! The 5 piece band, lead by front man Filip Kostovich, Jared Aisher on Bass, Sean Patterson on Drums, and Kane Ter Veer and Mike Cannon on guitar, The Earlybirds are quickly gaining a reputation for delivering fast and rollicking melodies which are irresistible to dance to. This youthful quintet, are no stranger to the local touring circuit, having already supported such bands as Pluto, the Checks, Midnight Youth and The Feelers on their NZ Summer Tours. These boys have definitely planted the seed to becoming the next great rock band out of NZ.

Formed in 2008 Mile High are an up and coming rock band from Auckland. The band consists of Aditya Maharaj, Kevin Nolan, Paul Nolan, Chris Chamberlain and Quinton McMillan. Their debut single "Now" was released in April 2009 and went on to score air play on The Rock, Kiwi FM and C4. Following this success, Mile High performed at The 2010 Big Day Out, The Big Night In Telethon as well as The Bog Band Fest in Christchurch with The Midnight Youth and Dane Rumble. The band was also a top 20 finalist in MTV's 42 Unheard competition as well as The Jim Beam Homegrown Band Search. The band's latest release is their second single "And Again" which is currently receiving airplay on radio stations all over the country.
