Following the success of the evocative singles Forget and These Words, These Things, dynamic alt-rock quartet Pining Radiata proudly present their debut EP Skin and announce joint New Zealand tour with Manawatū friends Khaki Department.
Underneath a bed of introspective and poetic lyricism lies the band's brooding sound, revealing itself in this compelling 20 minute, 5-track package. Swirling delay loops and yearnful vocal harmonies find themselves in cahoots with intense guitar freak-outs and fuzz laden Rhodes throughout Skin, cementing Pining Radiata as connoisseurs of fragility and distortion.
After playing a string of shows around lower North Island, the band consisting of Maeve Egan on guitar and vocals, Cass Dollery-Signal on keys and vocals, Michael McKeagg on guitar and Josh Finegan on drums converted a family home in Palmerston North into a makeshift studio with engineer Harry Lilley who recorded the band over 3 days in April 2024.
Pining Radiata take their tunes on the road with Khaki Department in a 5-date NZ wide tour this November/December, playing at all main centers. In conjunction with the tour, the band’s have selected a handful of tracks for a 10 inch split lathe on transparent blue vinyl which are available now for pre-order via the Pining Radiata or Khaki Department Instagram, or pick one up at one of the tour dates. Tickets for the tour are available now via Under The Radar.
