Three of the country’s top musicians are set to light up the Wellington Town Hall on September 16 and Christchurch’s James Hay Theatre the following night, as part of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards Finalists Showcase gigs.
For the first time, the Music Awards is taking three of the event finalists on the road, with the line-up set to be announced on September 1.
The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards is creating special one-off concerts to celebrate the best of New Zealand Music and bring a little bit of the magic of this annual event to a wider audience of music lovers.
Music Awards spokesman Campbell Smith says: “We are itching to announce the line up – it’s going to be awesome, with three Kiwi artists who are at the top of their game. With tickets priced at just $25, people should be booking early, and tickets are on sale today from Ticketek.
“Anyone who books a ticket before September 1 also goes in the draw to win The VNZMA Ultimate Auckland Experience at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. The prize includes flights thanks to Pacific Blue, accommodation thanks to The Langham in Auckland, VIP tickets to the 2010 VNZMAs, a limo ride to the awards, and a backstage tour.”
Auckland City will also provide the winners with an Auckland Harbour Bridge Bungee Jump or Bridge Climb Voucher, tickets to Auckland Zoo’s ‘ZOOM’ Tour, and a $100 Voucher for Orbit Restaurant on top of the Sky Tower. What’s more, the good folk at Vodafone will give the winners a new Blackberry and airtime package.
Smith says it’s a great time to take the Music Awards on tour. “We’re certain that people will flock to the Finalists Showcases in Wellington and Christchurch, and also join the crowd at Vector Arena or tune in to watch the Awards live on C4.
“Live music is one of the best ways to experience Kiwi music. I encourage people to come along, check out the finalists in action, and then tune in to C4 on October 7 to see who takes away the Tuis this year.”
Watch C4 and keep your radio locked to The Edge in Wellington & Christchurch for great ticket giveaways, information about what’s happening in your area, and more.
