Solid Announces A Day To Remember

31 January 2012 - 0 Comments

BIG news for NZ – international leaders in their field, the genre creating, the genre defining A DAY TO REMEMBER have announced a one-off all-ages NZ date. A DAY TO REMEMBER will play the Logan Campbell Centre on February 23rdon their way to Australia as one of the headline artists on the Soundwave Festival.

Make no mistake, this will be the landscape defining concert of its kind this year in New Zealand - showcasing the leading international exponents of a scene-gone-ballistic, and our best local artists, all with quality to burn.

2011 has been a monstrous year for the Florida quintet. At the forefront of the hardcore, metal, pop punk scenes, A DAY TO REMEMBER have melded this ‘underground’ movement to unprecedented heights. It’s a joy to see that a band leading a new wave of artists making challenging music and pushing boundaries can succeed on their own terms to such a level, that in the last twelve months, they’re topping billboard charts and being acknowledged by MTV as the breakthrough artist of 2011.

Last year’s album What Separates Me From You debuted at #1 in the US independent albums chart maintaining ADTR’s locomotive-like momentum and sonically pushing their love of extremes to new heights.

"Whether it's crafting a pop-punk anthem or delivering a sonic beatdown,
A DAY TO REMEMBER do it better than everyone, and for the rest of us,
that's where the separation lies." - Alternative Press

A DAY TO REMEMBER are undeniable. Their organic word of mouth growth and passionate fanbase from four albums and years of blistering live shows now finds them selling out arenas and playing at the top of bills and festivals around the globe. Thursday 23rd February at The Logan Campbell Centre in Auckland (all ages and licensed) is set to be the show of the year for this coming together of clans.

Antagonist A.D are NZ’s leading hardcore/metalcore band. Hugely respected and brilliant players with their own loyal fanbase, they are veterans of overseas touring and kings of their road here. Antagonist will be the main support act and perfectly timed with their brand new album and new USA label deal about to be announced.

Snakes Of Iron have shared billings with many international artists and are NZ heavyweights in their own right. Deeply embedded and pivotal players in the scene, Snakes bring their own brand of excellent hardcore to the bill shot through with signature melodic and metallic twists.

Til Death Do Us Party – fresh from Auckland and primed from action. The opening slot rightfully goes to this next generation as torch bearers bridging all ages and all shades. Stylistically close to ADTR and binding the bill together for all-ages.

With a ticket price of just $69 and three of New Zealand’s leading artists in the genre, it’s an all-inclusive big night out for a scene that has a real quality, depth and history in New Zealand. It’s a signpost show for where we’re at now…….. IT’S THE BIG ONE.
