Local bands will get together at Parachute Music’s Kingsland H.Q for the ultimate rock n’ roll fundraiser this Friday.

Featuring 24 bands over 24 hours, THE NEVERENDING will see members of Auckland’s music community unite to raise funds for the completion of not-for-profit organisation Parachute Music’s new rehearsal and recording space in Kingsland.

Running from 8pm Friday 29th June to 8pm Saturday 30th, the event will feature Parachute Band, Ruby Frost, Young Lyre, Lydia Cole, Luke Thompson, Nathan King, Tim Richards, Chris Cope, Alaska and many more, playing live sets from within the unfinished studio complex. The event will be streamed live at local music site Musicgroupy.com (http://www.musicgroupy.com/events/the-neverending).

With the studio already partly funded by donations, Parachute Music is aiming to raise $35K in order to finish the project. CEO Mark de Jong says the finished studios will be a community space for artists, rather than a commercial venture.

“We have a huge vision for the space and for developing a creative community around it. We want it to be a place that artists can use for rehearsing and recording at a price they can afford” says Mr de Jong.
