Christchurch’s Lupus Lunar to release self-titled, debut album with shows in Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and Christchurch this Sept/Oct.
It's been over two years in the making, recording in five different studios, including local hero Ben Edwards' Sitting Room. They've battled through 10 000+ earthquakes, stolen equipment and a house fire but now the self-titled debut album from Christchurch's earworm rock quintet, Lupus Lunar, is ready to be unleashed on the world.
A DIY band at heart, they aren't afraid to use whatever is at hand, with homemade guitars, amps, effects and a mysterious musical teapot all making an appearance on this labour of love.
The album includes singles Blood Like Rust, Back To The Ocean, Rabbit On The Moon and new single Company Of Wolves along with 9 other tracks and is available on bandcamp.
Lupus Lunar's high energy live show has seen them share stages with Beastwars, The Unfaithful Ways, Von Voin Strum and The Eastern. As well as playing CHARTFEST '11 & '12 and the Lyttleton Festival of Lights.
Catch Lupus Lunar playing the album in full at Chicks Hotel on Friday 28 September or Dunedin Musicians Club on Saturday 29 September with the Tommy Gunners.
