12 November 2012 - 0 Comments

Jim Beam Homegrown adds 18 more top Kiwi acts!

Jim Beam Homegrown is at the top of its game, proudly showcasing the best in New Zealand music.  A further 18 acts have just been announced to grace 6 stages set along the beautiful Wellington waterfront.

After 5 consecutive sell-outs Homegrown is working towards its 6th year being the best yet. The March 2nd festival features the most diverse line-up to date; from award-winners and exclusive collaborations to old favourites and rising talent, 2013 has it all!

Each stage has its own flavour. The largest of them, the Vodafone Dub and Roots stage boasts a truly epic line-up with Kora, Ladi6 and DJ Sir-Vere joining Shapeshifter, The Black Seeds, Katchafire, AHoriBuzz and Sunshine Soundsystem for a who’s who of local dub & roots royalty.

The Rock stage list see’s Kiwi music legends Shihad alongside a mean line-up  including; I Am Giant, Elemeno P, Midnight Youth, King Cannons, Luger Boa, Villainy and Clap Clap Riot.

The Red Bull Sound Lab presents a raw, jam and collaboration format unseen anywhere else in the country. P Digsss and Sambora from Shapeshifter lead out The Peacekeepers and the Trained Assassins, super-band All My Brothers are also added to the bill to top-off an already epic list featuring Cairo Knife Fight, Weird Together, DJ Sir-Vere’s karaoke Machine ft. Che Fu, PNC & K.One, The Babysitters Circus, Illegal Sound Clash, and DJ Redbird Jnr.

The Vodafone Pop and RnB stage is back and armed with the heavy weights of Aotearoa hip hop; Home Brew, David Dallas, Savage, PNC, Pieter T,  P Money and Friends. Also pop sensations, Zowie, Ruby Frost and crowd favourites Kids of 88 are coming to the party.

The Lipton Ice Tea Electronic stage offers a hedonistic super-clubenvironment with drum & bass icon Concord Dawn, The Upbeats ft. MC Tali alongside a myriad of breaks, glitch, house and dance culture thanks to Minuit, Opiuo, Dick Johnson, North Shore Pony Club and Thane Kirby vs. Felix5.

Last but not least, the free to the public Amphitheatre stage features the country’s premier 3 on 3 breakdancing competition with a mix of DJ’s throughout the day.

Whatever your taste Jim Beam Homegrown has it covered; every Homegrown festival has sold out, and early birds have already gone in record time. Tickets are $98+bf, go to http://www.homegrown.net.nz/.
