Florida’s finest are bringing their tour-de-force live show to New Zealand next month.
The Winterhaven rockers will play The King’s Arms Saturday August 31st.
It’s been four years since the outfit breached our shores, bringing their 2008 album New Surrender to life with a searing show at the Powerstation. Between then and now Anberlin has continued to solidify their place as one of alt-rock’s hardest working bands, delivering the left-right hook of 2010’s Brendan O’Brien-produced Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place and 2012’s Vital.
With Absolute Punk Magazine calling Vital “the best record in Anberlin’s ten year career, bar none”, numerous residencies in the Billboard 200 and a headlining North American tour freshly behind them, the band has never been a stronger force in an increasingly pallid rock scene.
Onstage, leaning on an impressive back catalogue of hits like Feel Good Drag, Paperthin Hymn and Godspeed, the quintet plug in and bleed, making them one of the scene’s most exciting live acts. Their future once deemed by their frontman as “…either world domination or destruction”, the band has chosen to take the world by storm.
Just make sure you’re there to see it.
