Threepoint Turn consists of, yes, you guessed, it three Burnside High School students:
Ben “spank me with a paddle” Spink (guitar, vocals)
Mark “I love Germany but my last name is” Holland (bass, keyboard, vocals)
Andy “the abominable snowman” Frost (drums, backing vocals)
(Andy used to be known as “the mullet but not the fish,” but has since trimmed his hair to a more respectable length)
We officially began when Andy and Ben, after playing with several others in 2002, found bass player Mark in 2003, when we were just 14.
We soon got sick of the school’s classical music regime, so decided to evolve from a ‘school band’ to a ‘garage band’ (applause). This was a great move as it meant we were free of irate flute teachers breathing down our necks and complaining about the plaster falling from the classroom ceilings. Practices usually occur twice a week in our top-secret countryside location, with no fear of noise complaint.
We have always had trouble describing our style, but would probably call it straight up rOcK, with just about anything else thrown into the mix, blended together, and fan baked at about 160°C for 20 minutes in a flat tray. You guys can decide who we sound like.
Threepoint Turn are powered by:
Squier/Fender, Yamaha, Zoom Effects, Laney and Behringer Amplifiers, Lazer Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, plus the trusty fourth member of the band, the Jansen Club Series Amp, and of course scones with raspberry jam before every practice.
