Music News - Mahoney Harris Announces New Single Release

Mahoney Harris Announces New Single Release

20 November 2020 - 0 Comments

Mahoney Harris is pleased to announce the release of her new single The Shifting of the Light.

The Shifting of the Light is a sparse, intimate track showcasing bittersweet melodies, unique chord changes and Harris's pure, fragile vocals. A song about the varied and conflicting emotions around the end of a relationship, the track ends with resonating poetic imagery accentuating the notion that actions will always have consequences.

"Initially the song was a visceral reaction", says Mahoney. "But as the melody and verse marinated I realised that while the main feeling was loss, there were so many other thoughts and truths at play and I wanted to try and encompass them all without judging too much."

Recorded in the airy loft space of Factory Studios in Auckland, the song was engineered, mixed and produced by Wayne Bell and mastered by Oliver Harmer.

The Shifting of the Light will be available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and all good digital sites.
