The Biggest Pub Gig In The World - Latest Announcement

20 November 2020 - 0 Comments

From the desk of Brent Eccles…blow me down!

It's really happening!

Believe me, this is going to be shit hot.

For what will be their final show ever, New Zealand’s favourite pub rockers Th' Dudes are jumping on stage for one last blast at The Biggest Pub Gig In The World.

Let that sink in.

FINAL SHOW EVER

These guys were there in the heyday of pub gigs in NZ, they’ve played up and down the country numerous times, at some of the roughest pubs around. I’m sure half of you have seen them at some point in time. Hell, Th’ Dudes invented pub rock. They’ve still got it too. Fronted by the legendary Peter Urlich and with praise the lord guitar man Dave Dobbyn, Lez White, Bruce Hambling, Victoria Girling-Butcher and Rikki Morris, Th’ Dudes are nothing short of Kiwi icons.

Bliss, Be Mine Tonight, Walking In Light + Right First Time are all set to be turned on, and turned up, live -  one last time. Whilst the stage probably won’t be fashioned out of beer crates this time around, Th’ Dudes are certainly firing on all cylinders and raring to go.

You gotta be there to send them off in style.

Th’ Dudes, Citizen Band, The Jordan Luck Band, Hello Sailor and Hammond Gamble will all be playing at The Biggest Pub Gig In The World, it’s certainly living up to its name.

On Friday December 11, Spark Arena will turn into a giant pub for one big night of pub rock when five of New Zealand’s best-known pub rock bands will flood the stage with beer spilling anthems.

You ain’t seen nothin’ like this unless you were hanging around The Windsor, The Mon, The Gluepot, The Hillsborough, The Angus, The DB Onerahi, The Fitz or a ton of other great pub gigs a few years back.

The bars will come onto the Spark Arena floor, the stage might just be a bit lower and the sound turned up loud enough to be the perfect tonic for the year we’re having.

The whole production will look like something that’s just stepped out of the eighties - big, bold, black but not very technical. Just “turn it on” and “turn it up”.

Believe me, this is going to be shit hot.

Remaining tickets are on sale now.
