Raised in the heart of Te Matau-a-Maui (Hawkes Bay), and living in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), songwriter and composer Grace Duncan offers her debut EP Ruminations as a collection of stories, challenges, and warm hugs of encouragement to listeners through her beckoning voice, cinematic soundscapes and driving guitar melodies.
After the successful release of her first two singles, Come, We Must Go and Time Will Tell, Ruminations is set to complete the gentle and thought provoking moods laid open by the previous releases.
Ruminations is a collection of songs penned over the last 8 years that serve as reminders to know/find your grounding for the moments of joy, deep sadness, and challenge. The EP also touches on Grace’s journey looking into Aotearoa’s history and understanding her role as Pakeha - to acknowledge the past and uplift the voice of those not always heard.
Following the release of Ruminations, Grace has planned a few small intimate performances where listeners can come and experience the mood around them in the comfort of a cosy lounge with a cup of tea in hand. Also, to be released very soon, is a music video for her first single Come, We Must Go to complete the package of this EP release.
