Pop duo Foley continue their dream run with the release of their sophomore EP, Vacation (out on March 12), featuring their new single Anything Before You.
In keeping with
their hard-earned reputation of turning out clever and compelling pop, Anything Before You is the cherry on top of their new EP, Vacation, which is packed with killer tunes. They include the already
released Better Than Love, Rendezvous and
their top 40 radio hit So Personal, alongside new track Keep Me On My Toes.
Written in LA with Nate Campany (Dua Lipa, Carly Rae Jepsen, Caroline Polachek), Chris Lyon (The Chainsmokers) and Will Everett, Anything Before You is
a groove-laden tune, which was “a chance to check ourselves and affirm what we were both feeling - that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed by your emotions and feel like your life has been re-orientated with someone else,” says Ash Wallace from Foley.
“As much as there’s power in being confident by yourself, there’s definitely power in accepting someone else and it’s reassuring to embrace that new reality for no reason other than the fact it makes you feel good,”
she adds.
Vacation firms up Foley’s place at the forefront of Aotearoa’s bustling pop scene and follows the release of their 2020 debut EP, On My Conscience.
"We feel so
lucky to be releasing a second EP especially at a time when the world needs a vacation the most,” says Gabe Everett from Foley.
“Vacations are obviously an escape from the normal, but can also be quite aspirational.
Everyone has an idea of their perfect holiday or getaway spot, being somewhere or being with someone who you can feel at peace with, and where you can be your best. For us, Vacation is us trying to be our best to our partners, friends, families, and
a reminder to enjoy ourselves."
Vacation tops off a great summer for Foley (AKA Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett), with an electrifying main stage slot at Rhythm & Vines and
opening for Six60 in New Plymouth. The duo recently performed at sold-out O week shows in Dunedin and Wellington and have their own headline show in Auckland at the Tuning Fork (all ages) on March 25, as well as a slot on the highly-anticipated Peachy Keen Festival in Wellington on April 3.
