Amelia Berry, Madison van Staden, and Sam Denne make up Babyteeth, a queerbo pop-punk band based in Tamaki Makaurau.
Today they share their debut EP Poser, following the release Poser, the ripper title track that has become a mainstay on SRN radio waves.

Babyteeth's two minute emo scritchings are the perfect soundtrack to the gay 90's b-movie playing in your head. They expertly combine the longing of lovesick jangle, with the melodic hooks of 00's pop punk.
The EP means a lot of the group, with Amelia saying "This is the first time I've sung in a band since I was teenager so it's been a real emotional and vulnerable time for me. I'm so happy with how everything has turned out and I couldn't have done it without the support of my bbffs (the extra b stands for band)."
Sam shares "I don’t think people should tell fibs but I’ve never been more satisfied with a lie than when I convinced Amelia and Maddy I’d be capable of playing drums for Babyteeth. Turns out I was right. This band is not just a musical lock-pick cracking open the cage door of arrested development; it is a band comprised of three friends who care deeply for each other, writing songs that help process both past and ongoing emotional turbulence. A therapy band if you like. I feel like Poser captures this perfectly. It was created with love, introspection and over the span of one of the most important development arcs of my life. I love my bandmates. Hope you enjoy it! If you don’t you’re probably a poser."
Maddy is "Feeling excited to release it! Get ready for a queerbo emotional ride!"
All members are active outside of Babyteeth, with Amelia (singer / guitarist) creating sugary breaks as Amamelia, and performing as one half of synth pop duo Fimo. Madison van Staden (bass guitar) cut her teeth in the genre bending Moody.V and the Menstrual Cycle, while Sam Denne (drums) creates indie punk as Skody Banks.
To celebrate the release of Poser EP, Babyteeth will perform tomorrow night at The Wine Cellar, with support from Roy Irwin and Sunreturn alum N. T. Honey.
