Coridianizing 'Wicked Game' on 7 May

30 April 2021 - 0 Comments

Kiwi Alt Rockers Coridian are set to release their first single of 2021 with their debut cover of Chris Isaak’s iconic 80’s classic Wicked Game on 7 May.

Keeping the understated beauty and sadness of the original while putting Maharaj’s signature spin on the vocals, with the Raven brothers providing a progressive musical soundscape.

Coridian states “We really wanted to add our own spin to the song's meaning by including the love we have for our whenua & Aotearoa. We follow the mantra, always leave something better than you found it”

You need to listen to Coridian’s Wicked Game to fully capture this ballad and epic rock ascension.

Paying homage to the original video with a black & white treatment and ocean scenery, Coridian take it home by showcasing the amazing vistas of Aotearoa, reminding us of the beautiful country that we have all fallen in love with.

This is a video you need to watch multiple times to catch all the subtle nuances introduced by Director Jordan Frost, the brilliant vision behind the video.

Wicked Game is the first single to be released from Coridian's full length album Hava. This is the 4th chapter in the 'Elements' series following EP's Oceanic (2015), Caldera (2017) and Eldur (2020). Produced by Aoteroa's own Zorran Mendonsa (City of Souls, Blacklistt)

Wicked Game debuts on all major streaming platforms on 7 May.
