KITA are proud to reveal their latest single, Every Day, an exploration into the very basics of human nature, complimented by an official video featuring expertly choreographed and performed interpretive dance, celebrating songwriter and vocalist Nikita Tu-Bryant’s multi-disciplinary creative talents.
The track itself is every true music lovers dream; a flawless amalgamation of jazzy funk and soul, smooth and nuanced vocal delivery, and completely organic lyrics. Speaking of the inspiration behind Every Day, Nikita says, “Lockdown was a time where people could not shy away from the parts of their lives they found unfulfilling. Every Day was written before lockdown when I realised the delicate balance of our strength as human beings, as well our fragility.
“Life happens in a blink, and we get to choose what we make of it. Whether we dull our senses away, or we peel off those layers of numbness to truly connect. It might sound earnest, but my truth is, hope needs to stay in our lives. Anything we can do to cultivate that should be cherished, and anything that takes away from that, we should let fall away.”
This Poneke-based act are well known for their exemplary multi-genre sound, with grounded roots and lyrics that articulately express the human experience. Featuring members Nikita Tu- Bryant, Ed Zuccollo (The Black Seeds, Trinity Roots, Troy Kingi, Hollie Smith) and Rick Cranson (Little Bushman), KITA are set to release their self-titled debut album, produced by Grammy Award-winning Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Razorlight) at the end of NZ Music Month, May 2021.
“It is clear that KITA has harnessed their years of individual talent to create a timeless piece of work with a clear societal voice. From the smooth, honey-like vocals to the dreamy guitar riff and rapid drum beat, KITA has put themselves on the skin-prickling music map with no signs of slowing down” (Happy Mag Australia, 2021)
